Michigan Workers Protest State's Demand for More Concessions
|
Detroit, Michigan - Hundreds of state of Michigan employees picketed the state office building to protest the state's demand for cuts in their health insurance during bargaining over new union contracts. They note that the state has a budget surplus and has given its top investment officials raises of up to 90%. Former Congressman Mark Schauer, who is expected to oppose Governor Rick Snyder in the 2014 Michigan gubernatorial election, speaks to the crowd.
